Quality and value are always important, but never more important than in the challenging financial times we are all facing right now. People are more careful about where to use their financial resources.
Why not invest your dollars in something that will will never devalue, never be worthless and no one can take it away...a musical education! The value of  a quality education in music can be measured in many ways. By now most of us are aware of the scientific studies that show the change in brain function of children who take formal music lessons, increased memory, better scores in language, math and science (

But what about the other benefits that cannot be measured scientifically?   A sense of accomplishment when mastering a particular song or technique,  or the  feeling of community that comes with playing instruments in a group or ensemble? Playing an  instrument can provide emotional outlet, stress relief and is just plain fun!

Whether the goal is to pursue music as a profession , to play in church or with friends and neighbors ,or just for personal enjoyment: Our mission is to provide each student with the tools and skills to become a life long musician

In addition to the weekly lessons where students learn the fundamentals of music theory as well as the techniques required in mastery of their chosen instrument, there are a number of performance opportunities throughout the year ,  including  but not limited to, a spring and Christmas concert and the slightly looser summer
coffee house , where students are encouraged to play in groups or ensembles ,playing anything from bluegrass, to rock, classical  or even showcase their  original music.
We also offer various workshops, classes  and seminars throughout the year targeting specific styles and techniques. For example: Beginning Guitar, Guitar for kids, String Ensemble, How to sing Harmony, to name a few, check back often for the schedule of classes.

We are extremely fortunate that so many accomplished , talented and dedicated  teaching musicians  have chosen to make their home here at McPharlins. This enables us to best match students with the appropriate instructor according to age, style of music and instrument.
